One of the most common questions we hear at Brakes Only Mobile Service is:
“How much does a brake job usually cost?”
The honest answer is: it depends on what your vehicle actually needs — but there are reliable average ranges, and understanding them helps you avoid overpaying or waiting too long.
If you’d like pricing for your specific vehicle right away, you can contact Brakes Only Mobile Service here.
What Counts as a “Brake Job”?
A brake job can mean different levels of service depending on condition. At Brakes Only Mobile Service, we always inspect first and then recommend only what is actually needed.
Common brake services include:
- Brake pad replacement only
- Brake pads + rotors (most common)
- Pads, rotors, and hardware
- Caliper replacement (when seized or leaking)
You can review the full scope here: See all brake services we provide.
Average Brake Job Costs (Including Labor & Tax)
Here’s what customers typically see when using a professional mobile brake specialist.
Important: These are average prices. Final pricing will vary depending on your specific vehicle, brake package size, parts selected, and current brake condition. We confirm exact pricing after reviewing your vehicle details.

Brake Pads Only — Per Axle
(When rotors are still in good reusable condition)
- Domestic vehicles: ~ $175 average
- Foreign vehicles: ~ $225 average (includes pad wear sensors when equipped)
Pads-only warranty: 1 year on parts + 30 days on labor.
Pads-only is appropriate only when rotors are smooth and within specification — we verify this during inspection. If you’re unsure, start here: Request a brake inspection.
Brake Pads + Rotors — Per Axle (Most Common Repair)
- Domestic vehicles: ~ $375 average
- Foreign vehicles: ~ $450 average (includes pad wear sensors when equipped)
Final price depends on rotor size and design, vehicle platform, performance/HD brake packages, sensor requirements, and the warranty option selected.
Warranty Options When Doing Pads + Rotors
When replacing pads and rotors, we offer two great warranty options depending on your needs:
- The first includes a 1-year warranty on both pads and rotors
- The second includes a limited lifetime warranty on the pads and 2 years on the rotors
Both options use OE-quality parts — the primary difference is the supplier program behind the warranty coverage (not the installation quality). We’re happy to provide estimates for both so you can choose what works best for you. Contact us for both options.
Option 1 — Lower Up-Front Cost
- 1-year pads & rotors warranty
- Lowest initial price per axle
Option 2 — Best Long-Term Value (Most Recommended)
- Limited lifetime pads
- 2-year rotors
- Ideal if you plan to keep the vehicle more than ~3 years or 60,000 miles
- Warranty pad replacements: pads are free; you pay only the reduced warranty labor rate
- Typical price impact: adds about $50–$100 per axle on average vs. the 1-year option
What Makes Brake Prices Go Up or Down?
Vehicle Type & Brake Package
- Larger vehicles use larger components
- Performance trims and HD/towing packages can increase cost
- Foreign vehicles often use sensor-equipped systems and specialty parts
Rotor Condition (Waiting Usually Costs More)
Waiting too long often turns an early pads-only situation into a pads + rotors job — and grinding can lead to much bigger repairs. If you notice noise or vibration, get it checked early.
